Oxford World School

Workshops & Seminars

At OWS we host the workshops to promote resiliency among students.

USK Foundation conducted a workshop in Oxford World School on 26th April 2018 for Primary students on the topic- ‘good touch and bad touch’. In today’s times, we hear a lot about child abuse and molestation. It’s high time, we start teaching young children about “Good Touch & Bad Touch” to help kids to be more vigilant. Most of the time, targets are very young children, below 6-7 years of age. They are too young to understand the difference between right and wrong. The workshop helped the students understand the concept about safe/unsafe touch and this was explained to them in a simplified manner with the help of a video clip. The USK faculty members also asked few students to volunteer and demonstrate few examples of good touch and bad touch such as hugging, pushing, slapping, and patting on the shoulder for better clarity of the concept. Every child needs to be taught that their body belongs to them and they have a right to protect it. With this in mind, the workshop taught the children how to identify the ‘No Touch’ areas, understand who are ‘Safe Adults’ and how to clearly communicate with parents about any bad experience. The workshop also highlighted how to handle a bad touch by shouting ‘NO’, running away from the person and informing a safe adult about the same. All of us want our children to be safe and secure and want to give them the best. We want to protect them against all odds. Our children come in contact with many people every day and there are good and bad people around them. So, it becomes our responsibility to sensitize them, equip them so that they are ready to face and handle any odd situation or person coming their way. USK foundation & OWS belief Sensitizing children about various issues and about good touch & bad touch makes them emotionally strong and helps them to grow normally.
