Oxford World School celebrated its Annual Function, on Saturday, the 17th February 2018, a myriad of celebrations replete with music, dazzling dances and hues of colours amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. Justice Sohanlal .K. Jain graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Respected Sir is doing his honoured work as an advocate since 1972. He is the President of Pune Adhivakat Parishad, Niramay Trust (N.G.O) pune and in Dr. Hedgewar Sports Academy, also a Chairman in Advisory committee-Apang kalyankari sanstha Wanawdi. Shikshan prasarak Mandali, a public trust school having schools in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Chiplun, Ratnagiri and Bangalore, Sir is also doing his noble job as a Director-Century Enka ltd, Century textiles and industries and Jain International trade. Among others present were Director of the School Mr. Ravindra Galande , Members of School Management Mr. Lalit and Mr. Madhav. Guest of honours were Mr.Vilas and Mr. Vishal, Principal Dr.Kavita K Roy honoured the functioned by their prized time. The theme of Annual Gathering was “VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBHAKAM” which means the Whole World is a Family.

We are the birds of the same nest,
We may wear different skins,
We may speak different languages,
We may believe in different religions,
We may belong to different cultures, yet we share the same home,

वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् सनातन धर्म का मूल संस्कार तथा विचारधारा है जो महा उपनिषद सहित कई ग्रन्थों में लिपिबद्ध है। इसका अर्थ है- धरती ही परिवार है (वसुधा एव कुटुम्बकम्)। यह वाक्य भारतीय संसद के प्रवेश कक्ष में भी अंकित है।

अयं बन्धुरयं नेतिगणना लघुचेतसाम्।
उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ॥ उदारचरितानांतु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्। ।
अर्थ - यह अपना बन्धु है और यह अपना बन्धु नहीं है, इस तरह की गणना छोटे चित्त वाले लोग करते हैं। उदार हृदय वाले लोगों की तो (सम्पूर्ण) धरती ही परिवार है।

The Annual Day gave glimpse of the beauty of different cultures and a love that has to be shown towards our Mother Earth.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp, followed by felicitating honourable Chief Guest by Miss Mihika Goyal and mater Ayushmann Somani. The Principal of the school, Dr. Kavita K Roy , formally welcomed the eminent guests and presented the Annual Report and shared her motivational thoughts on how each and every child is different and is amazing in their own area of interest. She thanked everyone for their contribution in the journey of Oxford World School.

Followed by Speech of Honourable Chief Guest Justice Sohanlal Mehta he emphasised on the cultural values to be inculcated in children and urged parents to believe in their Childs potential. The stage unfolded its artistic view by Devotional performance on “Ekadantaya vakratundaya ” in order to attain blessings from God . Graceful and peppy Dance was done by the kids in order to welcome the amazing audience. The ebullient dancers of the school presented thematic ‘Vasudhaiva kutumbhakam’, depicting rich radiant and vibrant cultural dances of India like Kashmiri Dance, Ghumar from Rajasthan, traditional Goan folklore and a touch of 80’s by a retro performance was power pack from Punjab we witnessed the powerful Bhangra showing the love for our country.

A dedicated dance performance in order to showcase the unconditional love of Mother to her Kids was performed beautifully to the beats of Luka chupi. The Naughty and wonderful phase of innocence childhood was observed in the Bum bum bole Song. The mesmerizing act that steals the heart was the important message song performed on the theme of “Save Trees” and stretching its importance was beautifully done by Grade 1 students. It added flamboyance to the function. Accolades were bestowed to the exceptional and outstanding performers in the fields of Scholastic, Co-scholastic areas. The programme rode to a final crescendo with Prize Distribution.

The Vote of thanks was rendered by Academic Co-ordinator Mrs. Bhama Pramod, the day filled with fun excitement and zest came to an end by paying an ode to our Country by National Anthem.
