Republic day in India is celebrated every year with great pride on 26th of January to honour the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. It had replaced the Government of India Act, 1935 into the governing document of India.

Oxford World School, Kharadi celebrated India’s 69th Republic Day on 26th January 2018. The patriotic fervour warmed up the cold winter morning as the teachers, management and children of the school enthusiastically gathered to hoist the national flag. School was honoured to have Esteemed Chief Guest Lieutenant Colonel Mr. DARA SINGH CHAHAL, accompanied with School’s Director Mr. Ravindra Galande, management members Mr. Lalit Galande and Mr. Madhav Galande. Our Guest of Honour Mr.Dara Singh Chahal is a National gold Medallist in high jump, also commissioned as an officer in Indian army in June 2004. Even served our country with your indigenous work in Kashmir valley, Nagaland, Siachan glacier and even had tenure of being with United Nations Peace keeping Force in Congo. You have been awarded as Sena Medal Gallentry for rescuing 65 civilians at Khardungla. Sir is still doing his noble job and is serving in The Premier Army Sports Institute, Pune. The flag was hoisted sharp at 8.45 am followed by paying a tribute to the country with National Anthem. Powerful and motivational speech was giving By Chief Guest Mr. Dara Singh Chahal concentrating on holistic development of child.

The day was followed by an encouraging and enlighting Speech by our Honourable Principal Dr. Kavita K Roy, expressing her pride in the rich cultural past of the country and highlighting the importance of Republic Day (Purna Swaraj). She urged every student to concentrate on Swach Bharat Abhiyan by motivating them to keep their surrounding clean; it is responsibility of each individual to help keeping our country clean.
She even zealed the atmosphere of Patriotism by sharing a wonderful Poem:

वह खून कहो किस मतलब का
जिसमें उबाल का नाम नहीं।
वह खून कहो किस मतलब का
आ सके देश के काम नहीं।
वह खून कहो किस मतलब का
जिसमें जीवन, न रवानी है!
जो परवश होकर बहता है,
वह खून नहीं, पानी है!

This was followed by a medley of patriotic songs sung by the mellifluous Grade-1 students. Followed by the Pre-Primary students who were dressed up as Freedom Fighters and National Leaders as a tribute to their sacrifice. The Day came to an end with hearts filled with Proud of Being Indian and by distributing sweets to the kids to make the moment sweeter. JAI HIND JAI BHARAT
